Job Description

Job Purpose:

The technician will be responsible for provisioning and installation of all CPE equipment such as Cisco Routers and Switches, IAD voice gateways, and SIP IP phones. Most of this work will be performed onsite at the customer’s location and the work will be limited to the Dallas Fort Worth area, with limited travel outside of the DFW area.

Duties:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Cabling equipment (router-to-router, router-to-switch, switch-to-switch)
  • Troubleshoot connectivity between devices and management platform
  • The technical environment includes Cisco 26XX, 28XX, 38XX and 72XX series router and Cisco and Linksys Switches. Straight-thru cables, crossover cables, fiber, multi-mode, single mode, TI crossover cables, network modules, network cards, PVDMs, Communication Servers, TFTP switches, Cisco Discovery Protocol
  • Basic Router configuration on broadband switching platform.
  • Perform complex troubleshooting with the LEC on T1 testing and extend DMARC to customers office

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work independently to handle moves, adds and changes of business telephone equipment.
  • 1+ years of hands on experience supporting Cisco networking devices
  • Knowledge of one of the following IP phone models required: Polycom, Cisco, Linksys, Snome
  • Knowledge / exposure to Windows, Unix or Linux operating systems
  • EE/BS/BE, relevant experience and certifications considered, CCNA, CCNP, Technical courses.
